My foundation as a clinician is Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic. These views focus particularly on bringing unconscious thoughts and feelings into awareness, the ways in which past relationships and experiences influence our present lives, and the use of examining the therapeutic relationship as an instrument of understanding and healing. I sometimes rely on Family Systems orientations layered with a view of problems-in-living that is Cognitive-Behavioral. These views are concerned with how our family of origin and relationships shape us as well how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are linked and whose interplay are frequently source of various obstacles respectively. My approach to people honors strengths and welcomes vulnerabilities, I take an "integrative" approach, which means that I do not presume any one theory or approach could ever be fully explanatory or revealing.

I can offer longer term psychodynamic therapy but I am skilled in solution-focused brief therapy as well. Together we can develop an individualized plan that works for you, addresses your concerns, and helps you reach your goals.
