Jennifer Tang Cole, LMSW , PhD

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: My practice is informed by twenty years of experience in social work, public health, education, and community-based research serving some of the most vulnerable, diverse, and in-need communities across the country. I have advanced training in social and behavioral intervention science, behavioral theories, adolescent health/sexual health, and health disparities. I received my Master’s of Social Welfare from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Doctorate in Social Work from Boston College.

APPROACH TO THERAPY: As a psychotherapist and social worker, I believe that therapy is a journey of reflection and growth. My clinical practice is grounded in a client-centered, strength-based, compassionate, and collaborative approach that seeks to better understand you in the context of your environment. I strive to create a safe, supportive, inclusive therapeutic space to foster your growth and development. We will work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan and identify appropriate interventions for your unique needs.

I provide therapeutic services in the following treatment approaches:

Cognitive-behavioral therapy, compassion-focused, emotionally focused therapy, family systems therapy, art therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, strength-based, motivational interviewing, parent education and coaching, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and family therapy. I am currently receiving advanced training and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Beck Institute and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy from EMDR Consulting.
