Jean Leverich, LMSW

I'm passionate about helping college students develop effective strategies for overcoming anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and other obstacles so that they can lead their best lives and thrive. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based. I'm honored to partner with students to support them identify their strengths and find their inner wisdom to change behaviors, patterns, and dynamics that are no longer effective for them so that they can live their best lives. Some of the modalities I draw upon include attachment theory, mindful self-compassion, internal family systems (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy. I have experience working with issues relating to gender identity, disordered eating, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and complex trauma.

I also have extensive experience coaching students and adults toward their academic and career goals. Prior to receiving my MSW, I earned a PhD in English Literature, and I have taught study skills and writing and provided academic counseling. I have volunteered as a crisis counselor at Ozone House and have counseled clients at SafeHouse Domestic Violence Center. I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Blue Care Network (BCN/GradCare/PremiereCare), Medicaid (Blue Cross Complete and Meridian) and Medicare B.
