Erin Hunt-Carter, PhD, LP
I am a fully-licensed clinical psychologist who enjoys working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety disorders, addiction, body-image and relationship problems. It is my goal to help you solve problems and live a healthier, happier life. I am here to offer non-judgmental support and hope as you navigate the challenges that you are facing. Because every client is unique, I take a personalized, integrative approach, providing you with treatment tailored to your specific needs and goals. In individual therapy I primarily utilize cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, soution-focused and mindfulness-based interventions. For couples clients, I use the Gottman method as well as emotionally focused therapy.
I earned my doctorate at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I completed my internship at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, where I completed primary rotations in the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Clinic and the Substance Use Disorder Clinic. I then worked as a staff psychologist at Counseling and Psychological Services at Eastern Michigan University, where I saw college student clients with a wide range of presenting problems. I also coordinated the post-doctoral and post-masters degree training programs.
My office is located on Jackson Road with free and accessible parking. I am in the office Monday through Thursday, with evening hours Monday and Wednesday. I also offer Sunday hours. Please visit my website at www.micap.net. I would be happy to speak with you by phone if you are considering making an appointment or have questions.
